Christine Gray, MFA
Educational Therapist & ConnectEd Educator
My background is in Art Education. I worked for many years teaching painting and drawing as a college professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. I hold an MFA in Fine Arts from UC Santa Barbara and a BFA from University of Texas at Austin, where I grew up. After moving to the Bay Area in 2014 I worked part time as an art instructor at Palo Alto Art Center, Castilleja School, and San Jose State while raising my two children.
I joined the ConnectEd family first in 2019 as a parent of a neurodivergent child who was understood and supported in the PlayDate program. In 2021, I upped my commitment to the vision of ConnectEd by joining the team as office manager. My goal was to help families find the support they needed for their differently wired children. After absorbing the ethos, theory, and curriculum with mentorship from Heather, Shlomit, and Nancy I began to directly support kids in our PlayDate groups and beyond. To further my training I completed the UC Santa Cruz extension Educational Therapy Certificate program from 2022 to 2024. I am now an educational therapist who specializes in helping middle grade neurodivergent students in executive function, reading, math, and writing. I use regulation and self-awareness tools to support targeted and individualized interventions.
When Iām not at the clinic I can be found tangled into an advanced yoga pose or cooking for my family. I love to travel as long as it involves adventuring and arduous hiking.
