Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
-
We serve children 18 months to sixth grade and their families. We have tween and teen groups dedicated to those who have received ConnectEd services.
-
Please see the steps to begin our intake process under the forms tab on our website, or contact us directly at info@connected.us.com. New families will complete an intake process with one of our Intake Coordinators. The process consists of filling and returning our required forms, paying a $75 fee to cover administrative costs, sharing reports from relevant providers and school IEP/504 documentation. The final step is a 15 minute phone conversation with a ConnectEd specialist who will answer your questions and gather information about your child’s profile and your family goals. At the completion of the intake process, ConnectEd support options will be shared when an appropriate service opportunity is available. Each family/child is considered on an individual basis to ensure an appropriate match for all children.
-
Because we are making social connections between kids, we do not have a linear waitlist, but rather a wait pool. We look for opportunities for kids in the wait pool to be seen in the most beneficial setting. For some kids that will be 1:1, a dyad, or a small social group. It is difficult to predict how long the wait will be, but can be as long as six to twelve months. We have the most spots open up in mid-August as we are filling spaces for our Fall Playdate program. Siblings and past clients have priority as well as children under five years old.
Philosophy and Efficacy Base
-
We are committed to ongoing translational research from a wide range of disciplines including: education/early intervention, developmental psychology, neuroscience, and applied sciences including speech and language and occupational therapy. We believe that the current state of the field offers a paradigm shift in a deeper understanding of engagement, regulation, and social success that impacts our ability to design truly individualized support plans. In addition to scientific investigation, we are committed to strength based and neuro-affirming practices that celebrate all ways of thinking, interacting, and defining success.
-
We partner closely with Meredith Wike of Summit Behavior Consulting as well as other community-based behavioral agencies on an individual basis. We adopt efficacy based behavioral strategies and tools that are in line with the ConnectEd mission and philosophy including Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions and self monitoring systems specifically the Self and Match program.
-
ConnectEd is committed to transparent collaboration with all team members including schools. We are happy to join families as they navigate school options including public, non-public, and independent schools. Participating in team meetings including IFSP/IEP/504 meetings allows us to ensure consistency, clarity, and a shared plan across all team members.
Billing and Insurance
-
We are a small business, and this limits our ability to work directly with insurance carriers. Payment for services is made directly to ConnectEd LLC. If you would like to make an insurance claim, we will supply you with a superbill.
-
Superbills are created by request by Karen Muyal. Full payment of open invoices is required before a superbill can be issued. We require an ICD-10 diagnosis code along with documentation from a medical provider. After you receive your first superbill, current clients will continue to receive updated superbills automatically.
-
We do not operate with an NPI number. We will provide our EIN number with your superbill. We suggest you speak to a representative at your insurance company to allow them to accept the EIN number in lieu of the NPI number.

“ConnectEd became our second family. They have helped us understand the difficulties our child was facing and how we can help her pass them. Our daughter has been receiving their help across the board since she was four years old and to see her advance throughout the year and every year has been astounding! She is seven years old now and she is really flourishing and we can’t wait to see what she will become all due to their professionalism, advice, and friendship. Thank you, Connected Team! We owe you a lot!”
